“ Freddy's remains one of the best goddamned bars in the five boroughs, in large part because they seem to have considered everything. - A room for live bands on Fridays and Saturdays thar is carefully insulated from the rest of the bar (in other words, you would never know there was a live band playing unless you were just outside the door( - Remarkably efficient take no shit bartenders who never feel any need to ingratiate you - A hilarious kitchen that seems to exist as its own kingdom with its own set of rules (complete with those Southern California flashing light indicators when your food is ready), with a surprising variety of food at weirdass hours - One of the most impressive rosters of regulars and weirdos on ANY given time you enter (seriously) - A Floorplan with commodious rooms that seems prepared for any cultural or sociological developments in the next ten years Seriously, if you have a problem with this place, you simply don't possess a soul or you truly don't comprehend what NYC is all about. “ They have happy hour and a good selection of beers on tap with some small batch locals too always rotating. They play solid music, funky lowbrow interior, good food selection, outdoor seats in front and back "garden", and a Charles Bukowski shrine (that's where I always sit!). Pretty local crowd where you'll find no hassle or problems. Live music and comedy on certain nights. You should sign the guestbook when you come in, or at least look through it. ”

“ The bartender is super friendly and this place definitely has a "Cheers" bar feeling with its regular and a few misfits! I really like a bar and was able to do a bit of work while eating fries. You order in the back and there is a man that cooks your food. It isn't a trendy spot but it is a neighborhood joint ”

“ We love this bar. Every time we're in town, we spend nights here just hanging out. All of the patrons and bar tenders are great. Friendly and fun. The atmosphere is kitschy and random, but gives a great mood. Food is typical bar food. The fries are amazing. Drinks are strong and cheap! “ The frogs are dead!!!!!! This type of frog allegedly can live in captivity for like 20 years, so I have to assume the conditions of a dark loud bar are not ideal for them. Apparently one died and the other died soon after, of grief I assume. They may get replaced. But we must acknowledge their passing. ”
